And I’m back from another crazy day at Cosfest 2008!

Usually I’d post immediately after I get home but the sheer volume of pictures taken by my team of photographers (yeah, team =D) made that impossible.

I’ll be splitting Day 2 coverage to 2 posts once again so stay tuned!

And this is nutcase23 reporting in with Day 1 of Singapore’s Cosfest 2008!!!

I didn’t exactly stay till the end of the event since my battery died on me and I was dead tired and the crowd was getting seriously crazy. But it was fun while I was there and of course I have the pictures to show you.

Warning!!! Lots of pictures after the break.

    day3_coverart.jpgBakaboi’s post on Day2:
Once again its the Singapore’s largest cosplay event, the Cosfest. Today’s event is being held at the D’ Tent. Its way smaller than the D’ Marquee(the main cosfest was held there last year). Most of the cosplayers decide to stay outside the D’ Tent since everyone would not ba able to squeeze in. The booths inside the D’ Tent isnt really that interesting. The are more of those sponsors booth. The interesting things are the Toys&Toys booth, where they are selling figurines, and a few others selling swords and anime goods. The Anime Karaoke Contest turned out quite interesting. Most of the singers are awesom, but one of them apparently had lyrics written on her hand(looks like it xD ).

overall, I enjoyed my day at the Cosfest today.

    oOgA’s post on Day3:
Cosfest VI, themed as The Golden Experience, ended and frankly speaking, it was so much better than last year. Although I didnt go for the 2nd day due to work (bah..sux), at least I went for the last day! At least, it was so much more comfortable than the 1st day as there was no strict security restrictons and it was much spacious and relaxing. The booths were nice and as usual, I bought something from KKnM booth – Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni Matsuri poster. (last yr, I bought a Rena pencil board as well). I saw a few nice cosplayers, one was a friend I known online who did Kikyou from Inuyasha and some from SHnY, Kingdom Hearts etc. I spotted some crossdressers as well.. Some were good but some were..*cough*.

One feature which I like in Cosfest was the graffti wall, as you can see from the picture on the left, some of them were pretty good in the artwork and yea, it’s nice (tsk..i saw that world war soldier drawing there too.. lol).

Everyone had fun in cosfest, I am sure you have yours too :)

Another good Cosfest, lets hope for something good at EOY.

Note: Lots of pictures within post, The pictures will take some time to load so please be patient.
Credits to the following for their wonderful photos which were sent to me- Kura, bakaboi, u|-kurimi, Sieghart.

    Cosfest’07 Day1 @ Ngee Ann City , Singapore

    [Impressions]

7th July 07 marks the 1st day of Cosfest’07, the event kicks off with tight security and the scorching weather upon us. Held at Ngee Ann City, I got turned off when I saw the security and police guarding the event. I knew someone of a “big” status is definitely coming… Carrying a bag with my Kanon Visual Memories in a DHL box and a newtype magazine while squeezing through the crowd is not a fun thing to do and whats worse is to clear your pockets and everything while walking through the security scanner (or whatever you do) was a hassle. The weather isnt being kind and while the crowd is there, somehow, I felt it lack something.

Salsa dances in the afternoon was a bore so much, that the group and I went to Kinokuniya, the land of an alternate posion. I felt an urge to buy but yea..empty pockets prevented me to. I heard that there was a Haruhi group that performed Lucky Star “dance” though but I was unable to verify that as I was in Kino. As the sun starts to set, we proceeded into the crowd while moving around and started taking some pictures. There were a couple of nice cosplayers though and I was pretty attracted to some of them and of course, the girl in the pic above is someone I knew of.

As the event progresses, I was told to move aside as a group of VIP members arrive, yea, the MP and town council members for Tanjong Pagar arrived, pretty suprising for them to come to this event, what suprised me even more was our Minister Mentor had came for the event as well and even gave a pretty lengthy speech.

My impressions? hmm, It’s good thats for sure and I beleived it would even be better when the main event kicks next weekend at Downtown East. Sad to say, I am working on Saturday for the whole day and can only attend on Sunday.
