I cant keep Anime Banzai! for too long in Maintenance mode due to Podcast episode 7 being ready. Hence forth, I will lift the maintenance mode while the looks are still in “buggy” mode. Weekend for busy for me (in RL of course)

We are now on Wordpress 2.5! and of course, planning to wait for Wordpress 2.5.1 for some bug fixes.

Kudos to Animeblogger for the upgrade.

we have decided to appeal for donations to cover the taxes and hosting fees of AnimeBlogger.net. The first goal is to raise US$1700 to cover three months of hosting and the taxes applicable to AnimeBlogger.net. When we have secured that amount, we are looking into adding another server in order to accommodate more writers, which is where the second goal comes in.  If we reach our second goal of US$2300, we’ll be able to add another server.

Thinking of upgrading your wordpress yesterday ? Apparently, the wordpress 2.5 release has been pushed back by a week or maybe even more. Well, not a bad thing, it is better that they fix up as many things as possible than push a rush release.

Based on Wordpress trac here, the estimated release date is 17th Mar 08

As for Anime Banzai!’s next style change, I will be putting it on hiatus until what WP2.5 may offer and what are the themes and plugins available but the rearranged categories will still be on the go once I have the time to move the posts.

1000th post for Anime Banzai! and the next change of theme (Anime Banzai 4) is undergoing. I wont be using K2, decided to use a simple theme and add-on from there, making modification easier. However, I have not decided if I should upgrade wordpress to 2.3.3 or the upcoming 2.5. Most prolly, many things will break apart in 2.5, particularly plugins.

There will be a general breakdown of most categories and renaming of them, I felt dumb with the complicated names that I came up for the categories. Some of the exclusive names will still retain.

Starting from today, there will be some changes applied to this web blog. Mainly the renaming of categories and reshuffling of some of posts to the right categories and ultimately a possible facelift of the blog in the end.

There is no estimated time when it will be completed except that the blog will still remain up except a few occasional “Maintainence” splash page or possible disappearance of the navigation bar above.

Please feedback to us what you will like to see in the next look of Anime Banzai! and any possible suggestions.

Lastly, kudos to jellokun and patz for their first podcast and also a warm welcome to the recent writers in Anime Banzai!

I’ve been pondering this in my head and so I would want to know would anyone be interested in a weekly podcast of reviews, news and just general discussion on the state of anime? I’d love to get some of the current writers involved in such an endeavor if possible, Real life plus time zones do make a difference!

So as a reader of Anime Banzai would you be up to listening to nobodies rant about current running anime shows and news?

7th feb is the day when the first official post was made in Anime Banzai! It was a normal blog back then until it evolved into a multi authored blog in ver 3. Time really passes so fast and 7th Feb is now here again !! It happens to fall on the first day of Chinese New Year as well, the Year of the Rat!

Wishing all guys and gals out there a Happy Chinese New Year and to those who dont celebrate it, Happy Holidays !
