An OVA adaptation of Kagami Yoshimizu’s Lucky Star school slice-of-life manga has been greenlit for production in Japan. The pre-announcement was made in a COMPTIQ magazine ad in the free From Gamers Cool pamphlet that is distributed at Gamers and AniBro Gamers stores. The June issue of Kadokawa Shoten’s COMPTIQ magazine, which has been publishing the original Lucky Star manga, will ship on May 10 with more details on the OVA project. The four-panel comedy manga deals with the everyday life of four girls in a Japanese high school and has already been adapted into a television anime series last year. Bandai Entertainment and Kadokawa Pictures USA are launching the DVD release of that earlier anime series in North America this week.

Ok Hideo Kojima does really have sense of humor. The video shows more of MGS4 Gameplay with a special Guest. I do hope the costume shows up in the game.

GDH, the parent company of the Gonzo anime studio, has announced on March 31 that it will allow international customers to set their own price for downloading The Tower of Druaga: the Aegis of Uruk and Blassreiter anime on the Crunchyroll video-sharing site.

Honestly, I am skeptic on how this model of payment works.

The DVD episode’s focus will be on the character Megumi Kuryu and this extra episode will be shipped along with Vol 9 (the finale) of the DVD which is slated for retail on Aug 22.

Watch out for CLANNAD’s 8th volume DVD which will feature a special episode (the ep24 for CLANNAD) on Tomoyo. Trasnlated as Another World - Tomoyo Chapter, it will be included in the final volume of the CLANNAD DVD.

It is a complete different story and inside the DVD, there is a coupon which entitles you a chance for invitation (400 seats only) to a theatrical airing of the episode on 31st May 2008. Application deadline is 10th May 2008

MHP2nd G launched in Japan Last week and many fans queued outside their favourite shop for the Game Launch. Famitsu has a report video of the event. I played a bit of Monster hunter on my PSP before and the game has quite a deep system similar to an MMO. Looks like the PSP has gotten a system seller with this game. Appleseed TV anime series will be slated for a 2009 release and Character designer, Mikimoto will be working for the TV anime Appleseed: Genesis. For those who might know, Mikimoto is the character designer who did Macross and Gundam 0080.

Kodomo no Jikan Season 2 Confirmed ! More lolis for you, Sir?

A special limited edition of the 5th volume manga will retail on 11th July that will include a promotional trailer video of the 2nd season in a DVD.

hasshown that in the United States, there have been over 6
million downloads in any given week.
In answer to this, the Copyright Network for Comic Authors
in the 21st Century, The Association of Japanese
Animations and the Japan Video Software Association with
cooperation from relevant government ministries, have
established a countermeasure council to address the issue
of internet piracy with particular attention on Fansubs. The
first meeting is scheduled to be held in April.

Tokyo Anime Center executive producer Masakazu Kubo considered fansubs as a form of “pirated copies. Earlier on, the working group suggested that it may be necessary to approach the illegal uploaders directly, so that Japan can formally approve these sites. We shall expect a few major changes to sites like Youtube, Nico Nico Douga and other related websites.

It is apparent they are pushing for a new direction in the anime industry. Of course, we wouldn’t know where this new direction will lead us, both the anime companies and the fans to.

I like Hayate No Gotoku! very much and I’m very happy to hear the news. Even though it’s already 52 episodes long, I still can’t get enough of it. Why? Because of certain things that Hayate No Gotoku! have and other animes don’t. One of the obvious one is the wide variety of lovable characters. From the tsundere-Nagi to the can’t-help-but-to-love-Maria and other awesome characters such as the perfect-girlfriend-material-Hinagiku.

Other things that I love about the series are the characters breaking the 4th wall and the anime references. Hayate No Gotoku! has minimum plot and most of the episodes are not related to the plot at all. But I don’t mind and it’s good to watch animes like this once in a while. I don’t even mind if Hayate No Gotoku! goes on forever because I will never get tired of it. So, I hope that the 2nd season will be at least 52 episodes long just like the 1st one.

Composer Yoko Shimomura has released her new CD title “drammatica-The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura-” It contains many of the tracks from various Square-Enix Game and a sample track of FF vs XIII. I am sure many hardcore fanboy and fangirls of Final Fantasy will be hunting and importing this CD.
