MHP2nd G launched in Japan Last week and many fans queued outside their favourite shop for the Game Launch. Famitsu has a report video of the event. I played a bit of Monster hunter on my PSP before and the game has quite a deep system similar to an MMO. Looks like the PSP has gotten a system seller with this game. Check out some of the TV CMs here. Check out the event Video after the Jump
No commentsTokyo Anime Center Posts “Stop! Fan-Subtitle” Notice

Dont make it! Dont watch it! Dont download it! (well, there is no “stream it”)
With courtesy of ANN who posted the translation on their website:
“Fan-Subtitles” are visual works that feature unauthorized
subtitles in various languages done by ‘fans.’ Data
hasshown that in the United States, there have been over 6
million downloads in any given week.
In answer to this, the Copyright Network for Comic Authors
in the 21st Century, The Association of Japanese
Animations and the Japan Video Software Association with
cooperation from relevant government ministries, have
established a countermeasure council to address the issue
of internet piracy with particular attention on Fansubs. The
first meeting is scheduled to be held in April.
Tokyo Anime Center executive producer Masakazu Kubo considered fansubs as a form of “pirated copies. Earlier on, the working group suggested that it may be necessary to approach the illegal uploaders directly, so that Japan can formally approve these sites. We shall expect a few major changes to sites like Youtube, Nico Nico Douga and other related websites.
It is apparent they are pushing for a new direction in the anime industry. Of course, we wouldn’t know where this new direction will lead us, both the anime companies and the fans to.

PSPHyper reports that Mana Khemia is being ported to the PSP. With the Game getting an international released on PS2 I really would like to play the PSP version extras. I hope NIS America or Atlus will pick this up and do an international release.

6 commentsExploding iPod Nano
In Japan an iPod Nano [the older version] caused fire damage to bedrooms and explode across floors. I personally would like to see an exploding iPod, but for the Japan Trade and economy ministry has issued a strong warning to Apple for failing to report the incident when it occured.
4 commentsIrate anime downloaders demands money back from Odex?
This is quoted from an article.
Source: The Straits Times
A GROUP of irate anime downloaders are trying to rally other downloaders into suing Odex, a local distributor of Japanese anime.
They say they want back the money they paid Odex in settlement for their having allegedly downloaded the Japanese cartoons.
The war seems to be heating up yet again ? Previously, there was an Wednesday article in Today Newspaper about the Court order for Pacific Internet to give out about 500 names to copyright anime companies at $13.50 per name
Quoted from the Weds Today
We will comply with the court’s ruling to provide the requested information
to the respective copyright holders by March 11, 2008, and the copyright holders will have to pay PacNet $13.50 for the details of each subscriber
heh…so our internet account is worth $13.50?
2 commentsPuchi Evangelion DS
Puchi Evangelion [Petit Eva: Evangelion @ School] is Evangelion characters on the DS without the nasty instrumentality part. Looks like a funny anime character style game, with mostly mini-games inside, and it takes place in Shinji’s school and various places from the anime. Looks like you can play as one of the Eva Characters along with Eva-02 Unit running alongside you on the school track? They have also made Rei a little sister. Seems GANIAX is trying once again to milk their characters.

2 commentsMore to the Odex saga - Internet service provider to reveal names to six Japanese anime studios.
THE High Court on Tuesday dismissed anime distributor Odex’s attempt to obtain the names of PacNet (previously called Pacific Internet) customers who had allegedly downloaded the animated Japanese cartoons. Instead, it ordered the Internet service provider to reveal their identities to six Japanese anime studios
Source and Quote: Straits Times Interactive
Update from ANN which I read about -
Odex has also been ordered to pay 20,000 Singapore dollars (about US$14,000) for Pacnet’s legal costs.
5 commentsSomething for Chinese New Year - The crimson red PS2
Source: PSX Extreme
That new PS2 is scheduled to arrive in Asian retail stores on February 4, just in time for the Lunar New Year, but Sony didn’t say if the Crimson Red Treasure edition was coming to North America.
I guess the PS2 isnt going to die that fast yet, the crimson red PS2, known as Aka Takara Kurenai is a limited edition of the slim PS2.
