Nadeshiko and Sumomo

Wow..and I thought I had enough fun watching an episode of Hayate on a vacation, seems like it is the same for Nanatsuiro Drops. Fan service is at work again in this series as it offically annouces that Nobuko has a F cup (wow. big). In this episode, Sumomo misunderstood that Tsuwabuki and Yuki likes each other while Tsuwabuki (in Yuki form) misunderstood the fact that Sumomo has someone she likes was someone else. To add on this, Sumomo saw Tsuwabuki carrying Yuuki in a night scare challenge. Sumomo is jealous or rather for her kind of character. This episode seems a little off from the game but one thing that the anime highlighted was Yaeno had someone she likes too…..well..i guess there’s no need for an introduction. Anyway, the episode concludes with Tsuwabuki and Sumomo together on the beach enjoying the stars of the night. Will Sumomo confess? hmm…I hope one of my fave scenes in the game will appear. It will be romantic.

Sumomo and Nadeshiko with Yuki (Tsuwabaki) in the middle

In this episode, Sumomo overcomes the fear of swimming in water and learnt a new spell in such an amazing speed within a day. Nona is definitely not amused with that although she wants Sumomo to be of a higher standard before they battle it out fair and square. Pretty straight forward episode (dont expect much from a mahou shoujo anime like this), but basically a few things has been pointed out in this episode – Sumomo is falling more in love with Tsuwabaki after all the advice from him although she does not know Yuki’s true identiy. The reason behind all this star drop chasing and about Nako-chan, will the anime show that she has feelings for Tsuwabaki ? hmm..
When the episode played the opening song’s music in this episode, I was like “wow”…reminds me of the sweet moments that was portrayed in the game, yea… <3
Pretty sweet episode as usual, not much complaints here although my fave character remains to be Nadeshiko Yaeno. Reliable and a close friend of Sumomo, she will play one of the important roles supporting Sumomo as a friend as the adventure to collect star drops continues.

Akihime meets a foe: meganeshoujo, Nona Yuuki

Akihime Sumomo proves to be a crybaby indeed (lol), Nona makes her appearance in front of Sumomo and Yuki and declares a challenge to her. She snatched the star drop away as well. Seems like her partner is a dog (lol) and quite a blockhead. In addition to that, she does a transfer to Sumomo’s class as well but of course, seems like Sumomo isnt aware as her alternate identity and looks are different. Nona is Prima Asuparasu(bah..thanks to bluemist for translating. in jap – プリマ・アスパラス), she is a Stella Spinia and her aims are still unknown. Tanabata (july 7th) is here, Yuki did a great job in cheering Sumomo up and in return, Sumomo performed a skill that shocked Yuki and also the dog who was spying on them. Yes, Sumomo has a talent that she is not aware of…. ;)
Nona looks weird in the anime, honestly, i felt my hair standing at the sight of the meganeshoujo. The game artwork is so much nicer but on the overall, this episode is still good but the pace has slowed down here as next episode, most likely, we will get to see some interaction between Tsuwabaki, Sumomo and Nona.

Nadeshiko Yaeno a.k.a Nako-chan

My fave char in this story (anime, game) is Nako-chan for she is the only non-loli (at least she is not that loli as Sumomo) looking character who has been the support for Sumomo, the bond of friendship between the both of them is strong through the understanding of each other since young. In this episode, the plot advances as Sumomo acquired the 2nd star drop and was found out by Nadeshiko, as what the teacher had mentioned earlier, they cannot be discovered when they are on a mission to get star drops. The only way to undo this is to make the person forget her memories through a magical incantation and a little prodding on the head by the magic wand. Sumomo is against it as Nadeshiko is her best friend, luckily for her, Yuki discovers an alternative method which is to magically bind the both of them into an bond of trust.
The typical mahou shoujo kind of anime, Sumomo gets a new costume in this episode as well and also Tsuwabuki a.k.a Yuki realized from the teacher that he will not transform when it is a new moon, hence it seems like this is the only day when star drops cannot be captured. Next episode, we will have Sumomo’s rival appearing as she is going after that little sheep – Nona Yuki. How will Sumomo Akihime handle the situation ?

Akihime Sumomo (秋姫すもも)

aaaaah~….a magic girl anime, it has been so long since I last watched one. Original character design by Noizi Ito and the seiyuu for the cast are pretty…well…not heard of except for a few like Goto Mai who is VA for the sheep ver of Tsuwabuki a.k.a Yuki-chan, Kaori for Nadeshiko Yaeno. The main guy in this anime is voiced by Hirofumi Nojima (well..he’s the seiyuu for Akatsuki in ARIA :P ) and yea..he is ..umm…normal.
The OP is nice imo, loved the animation scenes. Shining Stars Bless by Kaori Utasuki and KOTOKO while the ED , mo.u! is done by loverin tambuerin. ED is pretty bland though, dont really like it, Music-wise, the soundtracks are overall….still ok for me, havent heard anything nice yet. Story-wise..it is nothing new for me since more or less I have played the game before but overall, it is pretty well done especially when Sumomo runs after the star drops.
The story in short is about Sumomo who fell in love with this guy Tsubawaki on first sight and unknown to her, the guy drank some drink and turned himself into a little doll (a goat) and the teacher that he knows of is aware of the reason and in fact knows what is gonna happen how he can save himself. Sumomo is her savior and she is going to find 7 star drops of the colors of the rainbow. Unfortunately, it is not gonna be smooth for her as someone is going to prevent that.

While I understand some detest this h-game->anime conversion, I find the plot of this story pretty nice. This is a mahou shoujo (magical girl) kind of anime that is slated for a release in July 2007. The game will get a Non H version at Sept 2007 on the Playstation2. Here is the PV for the anime, it is nothing new though.
